Jurand has been an active performer on international stage for several years.
As a session player he recorded and performed live for BBC 3 radio and national Hungarian, German and Polish TV.
His international performances include appearances for:
Folk House, Bush Hall,
Westfield Shoppingtowns Ltd, NHS, White Eagle Club.
He appeared at festivals in the UK, Germany,
Austria and Poland
Jurand Jakub Zygadlo grew up in Nowy Sacz, South Poland.
He began his
musical training in 1988 as a chorister in Grammar School choir under the button
of Andrzej Citak.
Then he taught himself to play rhythm guitar and keyboards
but later on at the age of 16 he decided to take classical guitar lessons with
his former primary school music teacher and proficient violin player Jerzy
Kubrycht who taught him to read music on the guitar.
After graduation from High
School Jurand began his formal music studies in 1991 with Czeslaw Drozdziewicz
and Adam Zalas at the Federic Chopin College of Music in Nowy Sacz, Poland.
In 2002 Jurand graduated from The Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music. He studied guitar with Alina Gruszka and Tomasz Spalinski and composition with
In 2001 took part in Carl Orff method workshop in Mozarteum in Salzburg.
He has participated in masterclasses with Jorge Morel, Jorge Cardoso, Carlo
Marchione, Alexander Vinnicky, Wolfgang Lendle, Josef Eotvos and
His repertoire rages Renaissance lute music to 21th century.
Jurand is an author of guitar course for beginners "6 String Fun" and co-author of Ukulele exam syllabus published by Rock School.
